Animal Kingdom











Scientists classify the animal kingdom into different categories. The two main categories are vertebrates and invertebrates. Vertebrates are animals that have a backbone, There are five different groups of vertebrates; birds, fish, mammals, amphibians and reptiles.
Invertebrates are an animal which has no backbone. 97% of the animal kingdom comprised of 7 groups. Three of these groups are arthropods (which have exoskeleton). Humans are mammals like animals because humans feed milk and mammals feed milk as well. Types of invertebrates include annelida (segmented body and jointed legs) such as worms ,and molluses (soft bodied invertebrates such as snails and slugs).
